This year we will be presenting our second annual Social Justice Children’s Book Awards at our 10th Anniversary Celebration on the evening before the Fair:

The event is free and open to the public. Please join us as we celebrate YOU, our community of 10 years, three amazing award winners, and pay tribute to our founding member, Maya Gonzalez, who joined the ancestors earlier this year.

The 2026 Awards will be given to three authors: Roxanne Chester for her book This is My Bag: A Story of the Unhoused, Michael Genhart for Edie for Equality: Edie Windsor Stands Up for Love, and Justine Villanueva for Mungan and Her Lola. There are many authors whose work we love–these are just three we have chosen to represent us this year.
